34: Fathering Boys (Part 1 of 2) w/David Thomas
Episode Notes:
Every boy needs things only a father can give. In part 1 of this 2 part conversation, we have a hopeful and equipping discussion for fathers about raising boys into the men God intended. And there is no better man to help us understand the developmental stages of a boy into a man than David Thomas, L.M.S.W., who has been counseling boys and families at Daystar Counseling Ministries for over 26 years. In this conversation David helps us understand what God created boys to bring to the world and what they need uniquely from their fathers. How are boys fundamentally different from girls? What is the unique dignity of masculinity? What is the primary obstacle boys must overcome to see their unique dignity realized? What is the significance fathers have in the lives of their sons? And what does God offer fathers in return for the good work of raising sons into men? We talk about all this and begin unpacking the developmental stages every boy must go through to reach authentic manhood. If you are a father to a boy, you will wanna hear this encouraging discussion. And then come back for part 2.
